Ups power supply dust removal

ups power supply
UPS (Uninterruptible Power System/Uninterruptible Power Supply), which is an uninterruptible power supply, is a system device
that connects the battery (mostly lead-acid maintenance-free battery) to the host and converts DC power into mains through
module circuits such as the host inverter. It is mainly used to provide stable and uninterrupted power supply to a single
computer, computer network system or other power electronic equipment such as solenoid valves, pressure transmitters, etc.
When the mains power input is normal, the UPS will stabilize the mains power and supply it to the load for use. At this time,
the UPS is an AC voltage regulator, and it also charges the battery in the machine; when the mains power is interrupted
(the power outage in the accident), the UPS will immediately supply 220V AC to the load through the inverter switching
method to the load, so that the load can maintain normal operation and protect the load's software and hardware from
damage. UPS devices usually provide protection against excessive voltage or low voltage.
Use and Maintenance
Maintain appropriate ambient temperature. An important factor affecting battery life is ambient temperature. The optimal
ambient temperature
required by general battery manufacturers is between 20-25℃. Although the increase in temperature has improved the
battery's discharge capacity,
the price paid is that the battery's life is greatly shortened. According to the test, once the ambient temperature exceeds 25℃, the battery life will be
shortened by half for every 10℃ increase. If the prescribed environmental requirements are not met, the length of its life span varies greatly. In
addition, the increase in ambient temperature will lead to the enhanced chemical activity of the battery, thereby generating a large amount of heat
energy, which will in turn promote the increase of the surrounding ambient temperature. This vicious cycle will accelerate and shorten the battery life.
Regularly charge and discharge. The floating charge voltage and discharge voltage in the UPS power supply have been debugged to the rated value
when leaving the factory, and the magnitude of the discharge current increases with the increase of the load. The load should be reasonably adjusted
during use, such as controlling the number of electronic equipment such as microcomputers. Generally speaking, the load should not exceed 60% of
the rated load of the UPS. Within this range, there will be no overdischarge of the battery discharge current. Because UPS is connected to the mains
for a long time, in a use environment where power supply quality is high and there are few power outages in the mains, the battery will be in a floating
charging state for a long time. Over time, it will lead to a reduction in the activity of the battery's chemical energy and electrical energy conversion,
accelerate aging and shorten its service life. Therefore, generally, the discharge should be completely discharged every 2-3 months, and the discharge
time can be determined based on the capacity and load size of the battery. After one full load discharge is completed, charge it for more than 8 hours
as required.
Utilize communication functions. Most large and medium-sized UPSs have operational performance such as communication with microcomputer and
program control. Install the corresponding software on the microcomputer, connect the UPS through the serial/parallel port, and run the program,
you can use the microcomputer to communicate with the UPS. It generally has functions such as information query, parameter setting, timing setting,
automatic shutdown and alarm. Through information query, you can obtain mains input voltage, UPS output voltage, and load profit
Daily maintenance
Fault
In the process of using uninterruptible power systems, people often unilaterally believe that the battery is maintenance-free and
do not pay more
attention. However, some data show that the proportion of UPS host failure or abnormal operation caused by battery failure is
about 1/3. It can be seen that strengthening the correct use and maintenance of UPS batteries is of increasing significance to
extend the service life of the battery and reducing the failure rate of the UPS system. In addition to choosing a regular brand of
batteries, the battery should be used and maintained correctly from the following aspects:
(1) Dust is brought into the machine to deposit. When the air is humid, it will cause the host control disorder, causing the host
to work abnormally,
and an inaccurate alarm will occur. A large amount of dust will also cause the device to dissipate poorly. Generally, it should be thoroughly cleaned
every quarter. Secondly, when removing dust, check whether the connections and plugs are loose or the contact is not firm.
(2) Although the energy storage battery packs use maintenance-free batteries, this only eliminates the previous work of measuring ratios, matching
ratios, and adding distilled water regularly. However, the impact of external working conditions on the battery has not changed, and the impact of
abnormal working conditions on the battery has not changed. This part of the maintenance and maintenance work is still very important. The large
amount of maintenance and maintenance work of the UPS power supply system is mainly in the battery part.
The energy storage battery is all working in a floating charge state, and in this case the discharge should be performed at least
once a year. The battery
pack should be charged equally before discharge to achieve balance of the entire battery pack. Be clear about the lagging
batteries that already existed
in the battery pack before discharge. If one of the battery reaches the discharge termination voltage during the discharge process, the discharge
should be stopped, and the battery should be continuously discharged and then discharged.
Verification discharge is not to first pursue the percentage of the discharge capacity, but to focus on discovering and processing backward batteries,
and then conduct verification discharge experiments after processing backward batteries. This can prevent accidents from falling behind the battery
during discharge and deteriorating into a reverse pole battery.
Usually, each battery pack should have at least 8 batteries as a labeled battery. As a reference for understanding the working conditions of the entire
battery pack, the labeled battery should be measured regularly and recorded.
The items that need to be checked frequently during daily maintenance include: cleaning and detecting the voltage and temperature at both ends of
the battery; whether there is looseness at the connection, corrosion phenomenon, and detection of the voltage drop of the connecting strip; whether
the battery appearance is intact, whether the shell deformation and leakage; whether there is acid mist around the electrode column and safety valve;
whether the host equipment is normal.
Maintenance-free batteries need to be maintained, which is not nonsense. They should start from a broad maintenance standpoint, and ensure that the
operation and daily management are thoughtful, meticulous and standardized, so as to ensure that the equipment (including the host equipment)
maintains good operating conditions, thereby extending the service life; ensure that the DC bus always maintains a qualified voltage and battery
discharge capacity; ensure that the battery operation and personnel are safe and reliable. This is the purpose of battery maintenance, and it is also
the content and rules included in the battery operation procedures.
(3) When the UPS battery system fails, the cause should be identified first, and whether it is a load or a UPS power system; whether it is a host or a
battery pack. Although the UPS host has a fault self-test function, it is opposite but not in the right direction, which is very convenient for replacing accessories. However, to repair the fault point, a lot of analysis and inspection work is still required. In addition, if the self-test part fails, the displayed fault content may be incorrect.
(4) If the host fails, breakdown or burns the device, the cause must be found and troubleshooted before restarting, otherwise
the same failure will
occur one after another.
(5) When batteries with voltage inverter, large voltage drop, large pressure difference and acid mist leakage are found in
the battery pack, corresponding methods should be used to recover and repair in a timely manner. Those that cannot be
restored and repaired must be replaced, but batteries of different capacity, different performance, and different manufacturers
cannot be connected together, otherwise it may have adverse effects on the entire battery pack. Battery packs with expired life
should be replaced in time to avoid affecting the host.
